A day in the exclusion zone: Chernobyl and Pripyat
Chernobyl, a place I have wanted to visit since I was young and now finally made it there. I had high expectations of the place and indeed met my expectations and more.
My plan was to travel around Oman and the middle east over Christmas which didn't go as expected. I ended up changing my plans and heading to Sri Lanka for Christmas.
I have been staying in Xining, Qinghai which sits 2000m high on the Tibetan plateau. Qinghai has some Tibetan autonomous prefectures so we decided to head out into the mountains in search of a monastery. It turns out that it’s really easy.

Gansu province in western China has a lot of interesting places and two that I always wanted to see was the end of the wall in the far west and Zhangye Danxia Landform, also known as the striped mountains.
I recently spent a long weekend in Yangon. Myanmar is the last country I have visited in south east Asia and after visiting Yangon I now want to see more of the country. After getting a visa for about $20 in the Bangkok embassy I booked flights for 4 days in Yangon before heading to Taiwan.
I've decided to start a new blog.... The Bloke Blog. My old Callum.cm blog expired and it was $120 a year to renew the domain name so I decided to leave it. This new blog is nothing fancy, I just wanted to try out building a website with ReactJS and this was the outcome.
